MUNICIPAL VEHICLE SYSTEMS
did the snowplough or refuse collector pass this way today?
Many city councils or regional authorities have substantial vehicle fleets or engage third party companies to carry out these services. Protecting citizens from accidents as well as ensuring refuse is recycled and deposited correctly are two of the many challenges facing authorities. Using IoT Solution tracking and telemetry these challenges can be overcome
DESCRIPTION
Based on high performance vehicle tracking and telemetry devices with optional RFID tagging and reading these solutions provides all the requirements of the municipal vehicle fleet or highway maintenance vehicle. With multiple digital and analogue inputs and active interfaces to ancillary equipment these systems enable basic vehicle tracking with operation tracing in order to ensure completion of cleaning or refuse collection operations. Driver ID enables confirmation of authorised drivers and can automatically generate time sheets etc.
Monitoring of drive behaviour is standard ie harsh braking, excessive acceleration and acute lane changes or swerving. FMS and CAN interfaces to power chain and tachograph information is also available.
Voice communication is also available as is camera monitoring. Garmin FMI 2.0 provides for navigation and dispatch instructions.
